The term, bullet-proof or bullet-proof vest implies that a product will protect against all possible projectile threats but that is not the case. All body armour is categorised into threat levels depending on the projectiles it can defeat. Below there are sample ballistic standards from NIJ (National Institute of Justice).
Armourshield produces body armour to meet a variety of different threat levels round the needs of the customers. You can achieve a certain threat level by choosing between our three different ballistic material qualities which differ in weight while offering the same level of protection within a threat level.
The tables below give you examples of which bullets can be defeated by a specific ballistic threat level according to the NIJ standards. We have chosen from the worlds most common military and civil types of ammunition. As a competent and reliable partner in any armour issues however we are offering more in-depth information and datasheets through our customer service.
As well as ballistic tables we also give examples of anti stab standards. To view these tables click here
